Lionel Messi received a hero's welcome as he made his Paris Saint-Germain debut in front of a raucous crowd - but the night belonged to team-mate Kylian Mbappe.
Messi, who joined PSG from Barcelona earlier this month, had to settle for a place on the bench as Mauricio Pochettino named him on the team-sheet for the first time since the move.
The Argentine was forced to watch on as Mbappe stole the show against Reims, with the 22-year-old scoring both goals to send PSG top of Ligue 1.
It might have been the Frenchman's name on the scoresheet at Stade Auguste Delaune, but the night will be remembered for Messi's first ever appearance for a club other than Barcelona.
The 34-year-old was introduced in the 66th minute, coming on for Neymar who gave his friend and team-mate a hug as he made his way onto the pitch.
Messi's arrival was also greeted with a huge roar from the home crowd as they witnessed a piece of history unfolding in front of their very eyes.
Despite only being on the field for the best part of 25 minutes, the six-time Ballon d'Or winner showed some nice touches in his first appearance since leading Argentina to victory in the Copa America.
