Here is the list of the latest football players injuries, which might be helpful when you place your bets:
22-Year-Old Defender Borussia Dortmund Bundesliga
Injury Knee Est. Return 10/16/2021
Trains with team Wednesday
Zagadou (knee) was on the training pitch for portions of Wednesday's first-team program.
ANALYSIS
Zagadou continues to work his way back from a long-term knee injury and probably shouldn't be expected back in the squad for another few weeks. Additionally, fantasy players should anticipate the defender will be utilized in a substitute role even once given the all-clear, making him a low-end fantasy option.
28-Year-Old Forward/Midfielder Angers Ligue 1
Injury Knee Est. Return 9/26/2021
Out against Marseille
Boufal (knee) is not in the squad for Wednesday's match against Marseille.
ANALYSIS
Boufal couldn't recover in time for Wednesday's match, which isn't too surprising on a short week. The hope is that he can get a day or two of training in before the weekend and return to his usual role at Troyes. In his place, Azzeddine Ounahi is getting his first start of the season.
22-Year-Old Defender Bayer Leverkusen Bundesliga
Injury Ankle Est. Return 10/16/2021
Rejoins team training
Tapsoba (ankle) completed portions of team training Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
While it's certainly a step in the right direction, Tapsoba is still expected to be out of action until October at the earliest. Last season, the defender started 29 of 31 appearances for the club and should garner regular minutes in the starting XI once given the green light to play.
26-Year-Old Midfielder VfL Wolfsburg Bundesliga
Injury Knee Est. Return 1/8/2022
Begins individual training
William (knee) was on the pitch for some individual work Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
William suffered a torn ACL last May meaning he should still be expected to remain on the shelf until closer to the 6-9 month mark. As such, fantasy players shouldn't be anticipating him back in the match-day squad until 2022, though a spot in the starting XI wouldn't be out of the question once cleared to play.
19-Year-Old Forward VfL Wolfsburg Bundesliga
Injury Knee Est. Return 10/16/2021
On training pitch Wednesday
Bialek (knee) completed individual training work Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Bialek continues to recover from knee surgery back in April but has progressed to the next stage. Still, the forward should be considered out indefinitely until he is able to join first-team training sessions. Even once cleared to play, Bialek's lengthy layoff will likely mean a few substitute appearances before getting a crack at the starting XI.
28-Year-Old Midfielder Reims Ligue 1
Injury Ankle Est. Return 9/26/2021
Limps off early with ankle injury
Berisha limped off and was replaced in the eighth minute of Wednesday's match versus Lille with a suspected ankle injury.
ANALYSIS
Berisha couldn't enjoy his first start of the season for long and suffered an early problem. While the player was able to walk off the pitch under his own power, he had to immediately wrap up and ice his ankle. The short turnaround between games this week could force him to miss out on the weekend as well and if that happens Hugo Ekitike could be the next man up in the middle of the park.
21-Year-Old Midfielder Espanyol La Liga
Injury Thigh Est. Return 9/25/2021
Remains sidelined Wednesday
Herrera (thigh) will be unavailable versus Deportivo Alaves on Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
With the quick turnaround for a mid-week clash, it shouldn't come as a surprise to see Herrera still on the shelf. The midfielder has yet to get onto the pitch for Espanyol this season and appears no closer to playing at this point, especially with Saturday's meeting with Sevilla right around the corner.
28-Year-Old Midfielder Deportivo Alaves La Liga
Injury Groin Est. Return 9/25/2021
Unavailable against Espnayol
Pons (groin) will miss Wednesday's clash with Espanyol.
ANALYSIS
After starting the first two matches of the year, Pons finds himself on the shelf for a second consecutive contest due to his groin problem. Without Pons in the squad, Mamadou Loum and Tomas Pina will hold down defensive midfield roles against Espanyol.
