Cristiano Ronaldo storms down tunnel alone after Man Utd drop points vs Everton

Cristiano Ronaldo stormed down the tunnel at Old Trafford after Manchester United were held by Everton.

The Toffees were good value for their point as Andros Townsend levelled in the second-half following Anthony Martial's opener.

Ronaldo was left on the bench despite his midweek heroics against Villarreal in the Champions League.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer called upon his No 7 with over half an hour to go - and United in the lead.

Following Everton's equaliser Ronaldo was unable to find the decisive winning goal as the Red Devils missed the chance to go top.

After the full-time whistle the 36-year-old didn't hang around and was seen briefly exchanging words with Townsend before storming down the tunnel alone.

Ronaldo has already stated his desire to again win trophies in Manchester, despite the club going five years without any silverware.

A draw means they missed the chance to go top of the league and Rio Ferdinand attempted to explain his former teammate's anger.

"He stomped down the tunnel, disappointed about the result obviously we’ve all been there," he said on BT Sport.

"I think it’ll be a mixture of things, he’s a man in form, scored five in five, wanted to continue that vein of form and shoot his side to victory, I understand the frustrations and it comes out like that.

"Pogba down the tunnel after him. A club like Manchester United with the depth they have in their squad should be able to get the job done.

"You have to remember the players that were missing in this Everton team today, neither of their strikers played today, probably the weakest they've been for a while, you’d expect to go and beat them.

"Nine games without a clean sheet is a poor record for Man United, that’s what undone them today they controlled large parts of this game but give up a lot of chances."

Ronaldo has been a serial winner throughout his career, most recently at Juventus and Real Madrid.

Many of United's current squad are yet to taste that winning feeling and Jermaine Jenas insists it is on Solskjaer to manage things.

He said: "He (Ronaldo) wants to win the league, he’s not here for anything else but to win a Premier League title and he understands how to win a league title games like today, for him he’s fuming.

"That for any manager is a blessing, he’s got to manage it Ole now but he’s got one of the most notorious winners ever in the game.

"They’re lucky to have him, he’s going to be upset about that."
