‘He’ll live to regret it’ - Newcastle United fans fume as Brendan Rodgers stance revealed

Newcastle United fans have given their reaction to the latest reports surrounding the future of Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers.

Following the Saudi takeover of the club, speculation has been rife over the future of Steve Bruce in the managerial chair at St James’ Park.

This week Rodgers has become the bookmakers' favourite to take the role and reports on Wednesday evening claimed that the City boss was Newcastle’s first choice.

However, those reports were quickly dismissed , with the Northern Irishman said to be ‘fully committed’ to Leicester City with ‘no interest’ in the Newcastle job.

Rodgers became the first City manager to lift the FA Cup last season, leading the team to Wembley glory, something that helped his stock continue to rise.

Following the news of Rodgers’ stance, Magpies fans took to social media to give their reaction.

Here is what just some had to say.

Fox: Fair play to him if he sticks with the Leicester project. Less pressure for him & still able to compete against the top sides. Was never the right guy for Newcastle anyway!!

Under Milkwood: If #NUFC is indeed interested, and it’s a big if, then he’ll live to regret not taking the opportunity.

Kessy nufc: Good we are aiming much higher than him #nufc

GW: Impressed that the Brendan Rodgers links nearly lasted a full 20 minutes #NUFC

James: Not surprised tbh. We move.

Russ Luke: This was always going to be the case, let's be honest.

Regular Chris: I suspect this to be accurate. Why would he leave them; he has had great support from the owners and NUFC will be an unknown
