Chelsea legend John Terry and his wife Toni have splashed out a whopping £150,000 to rent a stunning chateau in the French Alps.

Terry, who on Tuesday was appointed to a consultancy role at the Blues academy, whisked his family way for some fun in the snow and shared snaps on Instagram.

According to The Sun, catered chalets on Les Petit Crans - Crans Montana resort sleep up to 16 people and can be hired for exclusive stays for a colossal £146,000-per-week.

No small change by any means, but affordable for someone like Terry, who has an estimated net worth of $70million (£51m), according to recent reports.

Terry took to Instagram to show off the lavish chateau, posing with wife Toni in a series of snaps.

In one shot, the lovers stopped for a selfie on the balcony with a glass of wine in hand and the snowy mountains in the background.

The former England defender also posted several pictures displaying the inside of the stunning chateau.

One picture showed a luxurious indoor swimming pool complete with comfy loungers and what appears to be a hot tub area.

And another highlighted the 16-seat table surrounded by upholstered chairs set for dinner, complete with a view overlooking the peaks outside.

Terry captioned the post: "Skiiing and lots of apres ski."

It received plenty of comments from fans and celebrity friends alike.

Former England cricketer Darren Gough wrote: "Pretty special that matey."

While GB News presenter Kirsty Gallacher added: "Bliss!!! Love you guys xx."

Ex-Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jamie O'Hara commented with a raised hands emoji and a love heart eyes emoji.

Terry might be enjoying a relaxing time abroad, but that will change once he returns to England.

The Chelsea legend has taken on a consultancy role with the club's academy, which will begin next month.

Revealing the news on Instagram, he said: "I’m delighted to announce that I’m coming home , and have taken up a consultancy role @chelseafc academy.

"As well as delivering on field coaching sessions I will be involved in coaching discussions and mentoring our academy players and support parent dialogue.

"I will begin my role in a part time capacity at the start of next month.

"The flexibility is key for both myself and the academy as it allows me to continue and develop my own coaching skills and ambitions alongside other commitments. JT."
